2008年世界青年短道競速滑冰錦標賽--Mackenzie參賽報告

Friday 1500M(第一天比賽)

The primary heat went well with a second place finish. Mackenzie gave it all and had some luck on his side. He advances to the quarterfinal. The quarterfinal was very hard for him as he burned himself out in the primary and had no juice left. He finish last.

Saturday 500M(第二天比賽)

The strategy was to come in the top two in order to advance to the quarterfinals. His heat had the Canadian Champion and who also came second at the World Junior. Therefore Mackenzie had to start strong if he had any chance to advance. On the start the Canadian skater hit Mackenzie’s blade, that’s when the USA Skater passed him. His chance was gone. He came in third position.

Sunday 1000M(第三天比賽)

To advance, Mackenzie had to be in the top two. In his heat there was one Korean skater which was impossible to beat therefore he had to come in second. Mackenzie knew the Korean would skate in last position until the end. Mackenzie strategy was to stay in position two. When the race started Mackenzie was in first position and he skated very slow to let another skater pass. No one would pass him. Mackenzie went even slower and still no one would pass him. The Korean skater then took off then the Hungarian advanced and passed Mackenzie leaving him in third place.

Summary(總結)

Overall Mackenzie came 37 out 69 skaters. This being his first international competition we are pleased with his results because he tried his best. The event was very well organized, everything went very smoothly. Mackenzie is looking forward to represent TPE in the next competition and is looking forward to the future that we can build together.(圖文由FayLu提供)
